Excellence at Chapter of Truth

The members of Chapter of Truth No 6235 were honoured by the presence of Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, Ian Cuerden along with grand officers Tony Hall, Malcolm Parr, Len Hart and Chairman of Leigh Group Jonathan Heaton.

Upon opening the chapter, first principal Mick O’Brien welcomed all the visitors and opened the conclave, he then invited Tony Bent to act as first principle where Tony proceeded to perfectly install Stephen Ralph as first Principle, the outgoing first principle Mick O’Brien as second principle and declared that third principle Steven Gerrard, who was absent through ill health, would be installed on some future occasion.

The addresses to the principles and the robe addresses were delivered with typical excellence and the sincere and solemn scripture readings were enjoyed with due reverence by all.

Stephens’s first happy duty was to present cheques totalling £375 to Ian, the recipients will be the Masonic Charitable Foundation 2021 Festival, Leigh Masonic Hall Fund, Leigh Group charities and Ecclesholme Masonic care home. Stephens’s next happy task was to deliver the rising.

Hearty congratulations and thanks for the wonderful ceremony were given respectively by; Tony Hall, grand officers; Ian Fairhurst, Provincial grand officers and Ian Boardman on behalf of the visitors.

After receiving the almoners report by newly invested almoner David Pickles, the assembled companions honoured the charities and retired spiritually fulfilled to an excellent festive board.
